Our beautifully restored 500-year-old hideaway sits over the Dordogne River, with exceptional views of La Roque-Gageac — wonderfully secluded, yet a two-minute stroll from riverside restaurants, cafés and shops.
Five hundred years of history behind old stone walls, with luxury boutique interiors, a private garden and two terraces looking straight down onto the river. The house is named for the kingfishers that flash turquoise along the water below.
In the heart of the Périgord Noir, it feels a world away while everything you need is on foot: swimming and kayaking on the doorstep, and the Périgord's châteaux, markets and prehistoric caves within easy reach.
The view
The terraces look directly across the river to La Roque-Gageac, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Morning mist on the water, evening light on the cliffs, kingfishers and herons below — the view does the entertaining.
